Artist Dan Burch gives a preview of his first statue to be placed at the Veterans Memorial. The clay sculpture will be sent to the foundry to be bronzed. The statue named "Sacrifice", depicts three local combat veterans - Everett Carter (Vietnam), Hubble Hainline (Iraq), and Jessica Newey Carter (Afghanistan).
Retired Sergeant Everett Carter served in the 101st Airborne Infantry. One of characters in the statue will represent Carter.
Everett Carter on WAAY/CH-31 promoting the first "Tennessee Valley Art Teacher Contest". Another vision he had will take place at Lowe Mill Art and Entertainment on October 22, 2010 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm.
